Built for Girls Who Want More
Advanced basketball training for girls aged 10-14. Saturdays in Redfern. 90 minutes of real work.
Your daughter loves basketball and she wants more. More challenge, more development, more competition. But where she is right now is not giving her that. The team training is too basic. The coaching is not pushing her. She is ready for the next level but there is nowhere to go.
And you want to find the right environment. Not one that piles on pressure until she burns out. Not one where the coaching is all about winning and nothing about development. You want a coach who actually knows how to develop girls at this age and keeps the love for the game alive while pushing them to improve.
That is what Advanced Girls Only is built for. The girls who want more, coached by someone who understands what they are going through.
What makes this different
A coach who keeps girls playing.
James has coached girls aged 10-14 for over five years. He understands the dropout cliff and builds an environment where competitive girls thrive without the toxic pressure that drives others away.
A coaching methodology that creates results.
Every session is designed to help aspiring and current rep players build real skill and perform when it counts, not just at practice.
12 girls max. No exceptions.
We turn bookings away to keep the ratio tight. Your daughter will not get lost in a crowd of 30 kids with one overwhelmed coach.

What parents are saying
"James has been coaching my 12 year old daughter for two terms and has already made a real difference to her confidence and skills. He is genuinely invested in her development and takes the time to support her growth on the court. That care shows clearly in the way she plays now, with more confidence, consistency and belief in herself."
"Coach James has not only helped my daughters improve their basketball skills, but also instilled confidence, discipline and a strong sense of teamwork. His coaching style is encouraging and highly motivating, creating an environment where students feel supported while still being challenged to grow. With his help, Kelly has improved significantly in her team performance this term and Ruby has become a crucial part of her team."
"Having Coach James as my coach was definitely one of the best things that ever happened to my basketball journey. Over the years, I've had many coaches who helped me grow and develop my skills, but none had a more significant impact as Coach James. What I loved most about his approach was that he didn't focus on whether the shot went in or not, his priority was always on developing good form and technique. Once you mastered one skill, he would make it more challenging so that you were continually improving. Thanks to Coach James, I grew into a more confident and well-rounded player who wasn't afraid to take on challenges and step outside my comfort zone. He didn't just teach me how to play better; he taught me how to believe in myself and always push past my limits."

Common questions
What parents usually ask before booking.
Rep teams focus on team play and winning games. This class focuses on individual skill development: advanced ball handling, shooting under pressure, decision-making and reading the game. The skills she builds here translate directly to better rep performance.
It is challenging but not punishing. We push girls to improve through game-speed drills, live play scenarios and competitive situations. The intensity matches what they will face in rep games and tryouts.
Yes. James has spent five years coaching at a private girls school, working with everyone from prep through to Year 12. He understands the unique challenges girls face at every age: confidence, body image, social pressure and the dropout cliff. His approach is built around keeping girls playing and loving the game.

Comfortable clothes, basketball shoes and a water bottle. A towel is recommended as sessions are physical. Please bring a basketball. We have a few spares but not enough for everyone.
